Today is not the day the Mayan calendar ends-- that is Dec. 21, 2012.
Nevertheless, today is a signficant calendar event. This is the last triple date sequence in our lifetimes. There will be no 13-13-13.
Some people think it will be a lucky day, including many brides.
"Iconic dates have become a trend in the United States, reaching new heights when over 65,000 couples tied the knot on 07/07/07," said Brian Beitler, Chief Marketing Officer for David's Bridal. "12/12/12 marks the last triple number sequence of the century, so it has its own special significance. The last consecutive series of the century will occur next year, 11/12/13, and though it falls on a Tuesday, many brides have already chosen that iconic day to wed."
