TCYFL Donates Toys, $500 to Toys for Tots
A Lake Zurich police officer coordinated this year's efforts here.
Geoff Meyer and The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL) collected
approximately 40 brand new toys and raised $500.00 for the Toys for Tots foundation through the generosity of the TCYFL and TCYFL Cares.
The toys were donated by TCYFL league representatives and their spouses and the $500.00 was collected through a raffle of autographed items from the Chicago Bears, Chicago Rush and Northwestern University.
The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL), the largest independent youth tackle football league in the United States, fields thousands of players on hundreds of teams from thirty Member Communities based throughout Chicagoland and southeastern Wisconsin, including: Antioch, Barrington, Bartlett, Buffalo Grove, Cary, Crystal Lake, Elgin, Gilberts, Grant, Grayslake, Huntley, Lake in the Hills/Algonquin, Lake Villa, Lake Zurich, McHenry, Mundelein, North Chicago, Prairie Ridge, Prospect Heights, Round Lake, Libertyville, Oak Park, Plainfield, Vernon Hills, Warren Township, Wauconda, Waukegan, Western Kenosha County (Wisconsin), Woodstock and Zion.
The toys and money were collected at the annual TCYFL holiday appreciation dinner.
“This would not have been possible without the generosity of the league representatives and their spouses,” said TCYFL President Geoff Meyer.
The Toys for Tots foundation is an organization dedicated to helping less fortunate children throughout the Unites States experience the joy of Christmas. Every year the foundation carries out campaigns during October, November and December throughout the states to generate toys and monetary donations for needy children.
Lake Zurich Police Officer Vince TeRonde coordinated the collection effort in the Lake Zurich community.
