Senior ‘Sisters’ Share Life, Love, and Golden Years

Chloe and Hannah await a wonderful foster or forever home together.

Hi, everybody! We’re Chloe and Hannah, a bonded pair of sweet and special girls. We ended up at the pound when our elderly owner could no longer physically care for us.

We’d describe ourselves as a Sheltie/Australian shepherd mix (Chloe) and a Pointer mix (Hannah). We’re 8-and-9-years-old and have been together for the past eight years.

We’re both fairly petite. At less than 40 pounds each, we’ve managed to maintain our girlish figures even as we enter our golden years.

We love each other dearly and are like two peas in a pod. We’re both snuggly and affectionate, and we love walks and car rides. Plus, we both think fluffy dog beds are the bee’s knees!

We really like to spend time in the yard. (Chloe especially likes to keep tabs on what’s going on outside.) We don’t dig, but we quite enjoy barking at squirrels, passing dogs, or the occasional bunny.

Although we like mostly the same things, our personalities are indeed distinct. One of us is more polite (Chloe); the other is just a little more needy (Hannah).

Where one of us always asks permission to join you on the furniture (Chloe), the other (Hannah) jumps right up, ready to hold hands and request pets from her human. Where one of us is content to sleep close by (Chloe), the other very obviously prefers to sleep with you (Hannah).

Young at Heart Pet Rescue really wants to keep us together, so we’re looking for a forever home – or even just a temporary foster home – that will love both of us. But don’t worry: We promise to make it easy for you.

As far as dogs go, we’re pretty terrific. Our gentle, happy natures are obvious even in our photos. (Look! We’re smiling in all of them!) We’re both housetrained, trustworthy in the home, and all-around well-mannered. Teaching us your house rules won’t be a problem. We want very much to please you, and we already understand the word “no.”

We love people, and we’re even good with kids and other dogs. (But no cats, please. They remind us too much of squirrels.) If you allow it, we’ll gladly take over your lap as well as your heart.

We really are an easy pair of dogs. We’re staying at a doggy boarding facility until we can find a foster or forever home that will welcome both of us.

Got room in your life for two sweet and spry little girls? With us, the standard $165 Young At Heart dog adoption fee gets you two-for-one! us requires no financial commitment at all, as the rescue pays for our food, supplies, and any required vetting. Visit www.yahpetrescue.com for more information and foster or adoption applications.

We know there’s a happily ever after out there for us, and we can’t wait to find it!

Love,

Chloe and Hannah
