Relay For Life, Fishing Derby Among Fun Events This Weekend

  1.  Foglia Y Sunday Family Time
 

Where/When: Foglia Y; 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Sunday, June 12.

Why Go?: Bring the whole family to the Y. Open gym is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and open swim is from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Pricing: Free for Y members

 

2. Meet the Artist Night

 Where/When: Wise Women Gallery and Gifts; 6 - 8 p.m., Friday, June 10.

Why Go?: Meet the local artists whose beautiful creations are on display in the gallery for conversation and light refreshments. Jewelry, pottery, paintings, ceramics, photography, collage and silk fabric created by local artists are featured in the gallery.

3. Relay for Life of Lake Zurich and Wauconda - American Cancer Society: "Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back."

 Where/When: Henry J. Paulus Park; 6 p.m. Saturday, June 11 to 6 a.m. Sunday, June 12.

Why Go?: Annual overnight event to celebrate and honor those who have cancer, have lost their lives to cancer and to fight against this deadly disease. Funds raised will support services for area patients and their families, research and educational programs.

4. Gina Glocksen at Viper Alley

Where / When: Viper Alley, 275 Parkway Drive, Lincolnshire; 8:30 - 10 p.m., Friday, June 10.

Why Go?: Gina Glocksen, American Idol top finalist from Season 6, will perform her pop/rock music live. Bar and kitchen open at 5 p.m. Must be 21 or older to attend.

Pricing: $8 - 25

 

5. 19th Annual Fishing Derby

Where/When: Henry J. Paulus Park; 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., Sunday, June 12.

Why Go?: Bring the whole family to the Paulus Park Fishing Pier for the 19th Annual Fishing Derby. Prizes will be awarded to all who participate. Check-in at the Chalet at 9 a.m. Have a great time with your family and friends and see what you catch.
