Readers Share Thoughts On Planned Pro-Life Demonstration

What do you think about the Pro-Life Action League's plan to display some graphic abortion-related photos in Lake Zurich tomorrow?

The Pro-Life Action League will be holding up signs – some depicting aborted fetuses – on Thursday at Routes 12 and 22. The “Face the Truth Tour” demonstration will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m.

Lake Zurich Police will be on the scene to keep the peace and allow Pro-Life Action League members to deliver their anti-abortion message.

The demonstration marks the 12th year members have displayed signs and communicated their message in numerous communities across the country.

Here's what some readers had to say about the planned demonstration:

dal said: "Did anyone else ever notice that 90% of the people that belong to these groups are men? Just saying ...."

Stacy Mergenthaler said: "If you have children I highly recommend avoiding this area as the photos are VERY GRAPHIC and no child (or adult!) should be forced to view these images!! I hate this group they are doing more damage to the cause than good!"

Mary Harkins said: "My extended family and I have lived in LZ more than 20 years. I am disappointed and shocked by the inconsiderate display of inappropriate photos provided by an organization claiming to have 'children' in their best interest. The pictures are displayed in an area that is predominantly family oriented, which I imagine is the goal of this 'self serving' organization. Shame on you. Mary H."

Karen said: "Everyone needs to get the point across on an issue they are so passionate about but they take it a wee bit too far. Graphic photos and yelling into the street towards your car is not the answer. This group repulses me."
