Barrington Hills Police report Joseph and Julianne Damato died as a result of gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide. 

Police responded to their residence on 33 Lakeview Lane on Wednesday, May 9 at 7:51 p.m. after someone called for a well being check. When police arrived at the home, a relative was there and expressed concerns because several calls had gone unanswered.

When police searched the home, they found Jospeh Damato, 56, dead in the garage, and found Julianne Damato, 47, dead in the second floor master bedroom. Julianne Damato died of multiple gunshot wounds. Joseph Damato died from a self inflicted gunshot wound. 

Police say there was not a history of 911 calls at the residence. There is no threat to the public.
