Police Blotter: Burglary, Theft and DUIs
These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.
On Aug. 5, at 12:54 a.m., Darvis Buskus, 30, 425 Wisconsin Ave, Oak Park, was arrested for DUI during a traffic stop at Route 12 and Bailey. Buskus failed all field sobriety tests. Buskus was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving with a Blood Alcohol Content Greater than .08 and Improper Lane Use. Buskus was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond with a Waukegan court date of Sept. 10.
A male juvenile, 17, from Villa Park was arrested for DUI in the area of Rt 12 and Cuba Road at 2:12 a.m., Aug. 4 The juvenile was stopped for improper lane usage. Officers also located unknown pills in the vehicle. The juvenile was released to a parent with court action pending.
RETAIL THEFT / BURGLARY
January Willars, 30, 1122 South 5th Avenue, Maywood, was arrested for retail theft and burglary in the area of Rt 12 and Deerpath Road, at 12:42 a.m., July 31. Willars was stopped for having no rear registration light and officers observed several bottles of alcohol in the vehicle. Officers were able to confirm that the alcohol was stolen.. Willars was charged with no rear registration light, retail theft (class 4), and burglary (class 2). Willars was placed into a cell transported to bond court in Waukegan.
Police received a report that unknown subject(s) stole a person's gym bag while he was in the 300 block of Church Street, at 8:30 a.m., Aug. 4. There were Nike track spikes inside the bag. The estimated loss is valued at $250. This matter is pending investigation.
POSSESSION OF CANNABIS
Josef A. Ceisel, 36, who resides at 3342 S. Port Drive #3342 in Island Lake, was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis on Miller Road at Route 12, at 12:54 p.m., Aug. 1. A random registration check indicated the registered owner possessed an expired driver’s license. Ceisel was charged with Expired Driver’s License, Failure to Properly Secure Child in Restraint System (Ages 8-16), Unlawful Possession of Cannabis and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ceisel was issued a Waukegan court date of Aug. 27 and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.
