Police Blotter: Burglars Take Medication, Money Over Christmas
These incidents were among the official reports of the Lake Zurich Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that decision.
Lake Zurich police received two separate residential burglary reports on the 200 block of Whitney Road in which the offender took money and medication.
On Dec. 25, a resident a resident reported that someone burglarized his residence in the 200 block of Whitney Road sometime between Dec. 24 at 5 p.m. and Dec. 25 at 1 a.m. He reported that he came home to find money and medication missing. There was forced entry to the residence. Loss is estimated at $100.
Police received a second report on Dec. 27. The resident reported that someone entered his residence and took prescription medicine and money. The estimated loss is valued at $100. This matter is pending further investigation.
TRAFFIC ARREST (DUI)
Edgar Molina, 50, 708 Fieldstone Circle, Lake Zurich,was arrested for DUI pursuant to a traffic stop at Rt. 12 and North Old Rand Road, at 4 p.m., Dec. 25. Molina was stopped for speeding. Molina failed field sobriety testing. Molina was cited for DUI, DUI over .08, and Speeding 27 mph over the posted limit. He was released on a $3,000 Personal Recognizance Bond, pending a court appearance in Waukegan on Jan. 28.
TRAFFIC ARREST (DWLR)
On Dec. 26, Alexis Martinez 30, who resides at 350 Main Street Apt #9 in Wauconda was arrested for driving while driver’s license revoked on Route 12 at Miller Road. Martinez was charged with an Obstructed Windshield and Driving While Driver’s License is Revoked. Martinez was issued a Mundelein court date of Jan. 28 and released after posting $150 cash bond.
Veronica G M Micek, 19, who resides at 126 Elizabeth Drive Apt 32 in Addisonwas arrested for driving while driver’s license suspended on Route 12 at Cuba Road. 5:11 p.m., Dec. 24. Micek was charged with Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended. Micek was issued a Mundelein court date of Feb. 1 and released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond.
TRAFFIC ARREST (DWLS)
On Dec. 24, at 9:11 p.m., Shannon L. Yohe, 27, who resides at 431 E. Seegers Road Apt #104 in Arlington Heights, was arrested for driving while driver’s license suspended in the 900 block of Rand Road. Yohe was charged with No Valid Registration, Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Driving While Driver’s License is Suspended. Yohe was issued a Mundelein court date of Feb. 1 and released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE
On Dec. 25, police received a report of a vehicle damaged while it was parked in the 200 block of Telser Road. The offender broke a window, mirrors, and windshield wiper arm. Damage is estimated at $800. Investigation is pending.
BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
Police received a report that someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the 200 block of Whitney Road and removed several pairs of gloves, Dec. 26. The value of the loss is unknown. This matter is pending further investigation.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
Police received a report, Dec. 26 that someone damaged the mirror on a truck while it was parked in the 800 block of Interlaken Drive. The estimated damage is valued at $200. This matter is pending further investigation.
Police received a report, Dec. 26 that someone damaged Christmas decorations at a residence in the 1200 block of William Drive. The estimated loss is valued at $75. This matter is pending further investigation.
