Seven Lake Zurich Middle School South wrestlers will compete in the Illinois Elementary School Association state individual wrestling tournament this weekend.

The tournament will be held at the Northern Illinois University Convocation Center March 9 and 10. Each wrestler will compete in a 24-man bracket. 

The Middle School South wrestlers who will compete are:

• Joey Black, seventh grade, 75 pounds. Black is a two-time state qualifier.
• Maxx Wayne, seventh grade, 80 pounds.
• Travis Nix, eighth grade, 85 pounds. Nix is a two-time state qualifier.
• Josh Dyer, seventh grade, 155 pounds.
• John Strojny, eighth grade, 167 pounds.
• Spencer Close, eighth grade, 185 pounds.
• Mike Leszczynski, eighth grade, 215 pounds.

Five wrestlers from Middle School North also will compete in the tournament.
