Mayors Against Illegal Guns Airs Super Bowl Ad
Lake Zurich Village President Suzanne Branding is one of more than 850 mayors in support of keeping illegal guns out of dangerous hands.
Mayors Against Illegal Guns ran a 30-second spot during the Super Bowl, calling for lawmakers to pass rules requiring background checks on guns.
Lake Zurich Village President Suzanne Branding is a member of Mayor Against Illegal Guns. Branding joined Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and 22 other Illinois mayors, last December, in Mayors Against Illegal Guns, after the Newtown tragedy, according to a City of Chicago news release.
Mayors Against Illegal Guns is a coalition of more than 850 mayors that advocates for gun control laws. The coalition aims to protect the rights of Americans to own guns, while fighting to keep criminals from possessing guns illegally, according to the Mayors Against Illegal Guns website.

She may have signed the form (http://www.volz.org/archives/57/Mayors-against-illegal-guns.pdf), but must not have sent it in to them because VOLZ is not listed as a coalition member. (http://www.mayorsagainstillegalguns.org/html/members/members.shtml#IL). Two emails sent to Mayors Against Illegal Guns requesting confirmation of Lake Zurich's participation have gone unanswered. Also, why did the mayor feel compelled to join? Should the signing of this declaration been something the residents had input or approval on, or at least be open for discussion? Was this discussed with or voted on by the trustees? Many unanswered questions.
