Lake Zurich Travel Professional Among Top 20 Promoting Australia
Owner wins opportunity to visit “Down Under.”
Lake Zurich Travel owner and President, Sue Shimkus, was named one of “The Top 20 Signature Travel Consultants” in the nation for Travel2 and Tourism Australia’s 2012 Australia Campaign which promoted travel to Australia and the South Pacific during the first half of 2012. Shimkus’ Top 20 finish has earned her the opportunity to spend 14 days on an educational trip to Australia in the fall of 2012.
“I am very proud and honored to receive this award,” says Shimkus. “Australia has always been a destination on the top of my travel bucket list. I have sent many clients on journeys to Australia, and this trip is an opportunity to broaden my knowledge of this unique destination. The “There’s Nothing Like Australia” campaign run by Travel2, in partnership with Tourism Australia, was launched in January, 2012 and concluded at the end of June, 2012. Thousands of Signature travel professionals across the country were involved in promoting the campaign, and 20 agents, including Shimkus at Lake Zurich Travel, were awarded with the free, all-inclusive, educational trip.
