Sure seems to me like a violation of a persons civil rights when they are stopped and detained by the police for no reason other than they were driving down the road. We should not allow this use of force by the police.

according to the United States Supreme court this is not a violation of any civil rights. Look up MICHIGAN DEPT. OF STATE POLICE v. SITZ, 496 U.S. 444 (1990), then read the statements of each justice and maybe you'll realize why this is such a crucial part of public safety. And you are not being detained at a RSC, detaining refers to being officially stopped for questions without arrest. A RSC is an unofficial questioning as their is no record of the discussion on file and technically you can refuse to answer any and all questions citing that you could possibly incriminate yourself and therefore you can plead the fifth.

Just how far do the police want to degrade and disrespect drivers (citizens) who are in compliance with all laws, but just happen to be out during these hours. How many more civil liberties do we stand to lose?
