Lake Zurich Celebrates July 4th with Fireworks, Music
The annual Independence Day celebration includes family activities at Paulus Park.
Celebrate the Fourth of July at Paulus Park during the 2012 Independence Day celebration.
Daylong activities include musical entertainment, swimming, kids’ games, inflatables and Taste of Summer restaurants.
DJ 39 and Holding starts off with music when the park opens at 9 a.m.
Taste of Summer kicks off at 11 a.m., featuring a variety of food vendors serving all your family’s favorites — pizza, hot dogs, tacos, egg rolls, burgers and more.
A beer and wine tent also will be available.
Children's activities, including games and inflatable rides, will run from noon until 4 p.m.
StateLine Band will play Top 40 country from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Spoken Four Band will perform songs from the ’50s to current rock and pop from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
One Foot in the Groove, an eight-piece horn-driven rock band, will perform classic rock from 7 to 9 p.m. The band is sponsored by the Alpine Runners.
The annual boat parade, where owners of lake property decorate their boats and circle around Lake Zurich, starts at 8 p.m.
The Independence Day fireworks will finish the night off starting at dusk, which is about 9:15 p.m.
The cost to attend for residents and beach-pass holders is $2 for adults ages 18 and older. A valid driver’s license or identification card are required. Residents and pass holders ages 17 and younger can attend for free.
The cost for nonresidents ages 4 and older is $7. Children 3 and younger are admitted free.
Picnic tables are available on a first-come basis — only one table per family. Residents also may bring lawn chairs or blankets.
