Genealogy Interest Group at Ela Area Public Library

Next meeting is Monday, June 18.

Do you have an interest in genealogy? Join Genealogy Interest Group (GIG), and discover that adding another branch to your family tree has never been easier.  Check the library’s website for specific monthly topics. The group’s meetings will take place on Mondays, June 18, July 16 and August 20 from 3-5 p.m. at the Library.

July’s meeting’s topic is “Finding your English Ancestors: The Big Four.” Genealogist and lecturer Paul Milner, a native of Northern England and professional genealogist will discuss how to examine available indexes and how to access and interpret the four primary records groups for English research: civil registration, census, church records and probate.

No registration is required and newcomers are always welcome. For more information, contact librarian Carol Bartlett at (847) 438-3433 x 215 or stop by the Library’s Information Desk.
