Chowdown Showdown: Vote for Your Favorite Burger
Tell us which restaurant has the best burgers in the Barrington, Lake Zurich area.
We asked readers of Lake Zurich Patch and Barrington Patch to tell us who has the best burgers in the area. We received lots of great suggestions and now we are ready for the final round (is it ground round?).
The restaurants that were suggested repeatedly were: Bulldogs in Wauconda, Chessies 111 Grille in Barrington, Hackney's in Lake Zurich and Kookers in Barrington.
Now it's time for you tell us which of those four is truly the best.
Voting ends Friday at 5 p.m.

Whoever put this list together never had a "Five Guy's" burger in Deer Park (next to Dick's Sporting Goods.) Zagat's voted Five Guys as best burger in the U.S. in 2011. Get out of the patch once in awhile Claudia. Hackney's not only sucks, it's as it's name implies hackneyed (i.e. worn out) and way overrated. It is a great place to meet blue hairs however. Best cougars in the patch---go to the 111 Grille!

Our four restaurants were selected by readers. We asked Patch readers to suggest restaurants that serve the best burger in the area. The four restaurants in the poll are the four that got the most suggestions.

I agree with Ron- Five guys is a chain (strike one), is expensive (strike two), and not even close to the quality of Bulldogs (strike three!). Try a Phatty Patty or a Hangover at BULLDOG'S and you'll never want to spend twelve bucks for a lousy "Red Robin" or "Five Guys" burger ever again. And for pure Hedonist's sake try their Fryday duck fries!!!!

BULLDOGS in Waconda is by far has the best burgers. I've had burgers all over this nation, they have the best hands down. Zaget must have been drunk or paid off to say Five Guys were the best, they rank up there with all the garbage, just saying.

BULLDOGS'S burgers are UnBULLievable!
The creative ingredient combinations, the incredibly diverse and wide selection, the cleverly named and beautifully executed daily specials - Bulldogs it is a slam dunk before you even consider their great service and cool retro diner atmosphere! No slam to the others in the competition, but BULLDOG'S for the WIN!

Blue Heron is truly the best in area-by far! But, of the four, Kookers is the better burger and Kookers is a great supporter our community.
