It's time for our weekly Chowdown Showdown!
Where's the best place to get pastries in the Barrington and Lake Zurich area?
You know the drill: All you need to do is sign into our site and then comment below with your vote. Feel free to elaborate on why this restaurant's ice cream is the best.
You have until 5 p.m. Tuesday to let us know your favorite go-to place for pastries.
We'll post the finalists in a poll on Wednesday morning. Our scoring method will change beginning this week; the winner will be declared based on both votes received and on reviews and ratings left in Patch Places Lake Zurich andPatch Places Barrington. Details are outlined in the document at right.
Voting will continue through 5 p.m. Friday. We will post the Showdown winner first thing Saturday morning.

Old World Bakery in Lake Zurich beats them all. Quality and taste are excellent along with the pricing.

I posted Old World Bakery on Monday and someone removed (as inappropriate??).
They must be worried that people like Barbara and me will throw their poll, or maybe Patch has some bone to pick with Old World and doesn't want folks to know about them.
