It's time for our weekly Chowdown Showdown!
This week, we are on the hunt for the best place to get French fries in the Barrington and Lake Zurich area.
You know the drill: All you need to do is sign into our site and then comment below with your vote. Feel free to elaborate on why this restaurant’s French fries are fabulous.
You have until 5 p.m. Tuesday to let us know your favorite go-to place for fries.
On Wednesday morning, we will post the top three finalists — determined by your votes in this article, on Facebook and on Twitter — in a poll. And it will be time to vote again — this time for the weekly Chowdown Showdown champion.
Voting will continue through 5 p.m. Friday. We will post the Showdown winner first thing Saturday morning.

rics are by far the best in the northwest suburbs. They are golden and if you want they will make them crispy! Also they have great melted cheddar cheese to pour on top!!! All those other guys are just wannabees to Rics Fries.

Rics may have decent food, but the owners are absolutely obnoxious! I'm not the only one that wont go there anymore due to the owners either. If you can deal with them, knock yourself out; bon appetite.

The Smash fries at Smash Burger are unlike any others. They are seasoned with garlic and herbs and are crispy and delicious. And their burgers are the best around.
