Visitation for Jeffrey S. Gruninger, 50, of Hawthorn Woods will be from 4pm – 8pm on Tuesday, Oct. 12  at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  Funeral mass will be at 11am Wednesday at St. Francis de Sales Church, 11 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich.  Interment will be private.

He was born February 10, 1960 in Chicago, IL. He grew up in Deerfield. He was a 20-year veteran of the Northfield Police Department.

He was the beloved husband of Carrie L. nee Bugel; father of Katherine and Eric; son of Irene and the late Erwin Gruninger; brother of  Stephen, Kristine, Gregory, Brian and Mark.
